Runaway Bay Centre wanted to mark its 50th anniversary with a golden celebration that rewarded loyal customers and reinvigorated community connection.  

BonBon was engaged to develop and deliver Strike Gold, a two-week spend-and-win activation that encouraged shoppers to spend locally. It ran in parallel with Golden Memories, a trip down memory lane that rewarded loyal customers for sharing their favourite Runaway Bay memories. 

Through vibrant in-centre activations, custom-built displays and a seamless promotional campaign, BonBon created a festive, high-energy atmosphere that celebrated the centre’s milestone in style.  

The activation inspired repeat visitation, engaged centre retailers and fostered heartfelt engagement from the local community. 

From dazzling gold-themed visuals to the irresistible launch-day cupcake giveaway, BonBon’s creative and logistical execution turned Runaway Bay Centre’s 50th birthday into a memorable and meaningful experience for customers and retailers alike.

FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION

  • BonBon developed, named and visually branded the Strike Gold promotional concept to capture the centre’s milestone and inspire participation through its vibrant, high-energy theming. 

  • BonBon coordinated on-ground logistics, supplier management and promotional staff to deliver a seamless activation and drive strong customer engagement. 

  • BonBon ensured every store benefited through simple entry mechanics and clear communication tools, encouraging collective participation and cross-centre engagement. 

  • BonBon tasked Aruga to design cohesive visual branding across activation assets, signage and advertising to enhance in-centre visibility, and crafted compelling campaign materials to communicate key messages and calls to action.
