On the road with RFDS
$20 million reasons to say thanks
BonBon and Aruga hit the highway to celebrate a major milestone in the 25-year partnership between Ergon Energy Retail (EER) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS): EER customers raising more than $20 million by donating to the RFDS through their electricity bills.
Our mission was to celebrate this milestone while giving back to the communities that made it possible. The result was The Thank You Circuit, a travelling activation designed to share gratitude across the state.
At the centre of the campaign was a custom-designed media truck, proudly displaying the names of every donor, that journeyed from Brisbane to Townsville, stopping at Maryborough, Rockhampton and Mackay.
BonBon and Aruga managed the end-to-end execution, including campaign ideation, route mapping, supplier negotiation and community engagement. In each town, BonBon organised community morning teas to bring EER staff and locals together to celebrate the shared achievement.
To extend the campaign’s reach, Aruga developed a public relations strategy that secured local media coverage and highlighted the human stories behind the donations.
For one week, the BonBon and Aruga teams travelled in a convoy with the truck, overseeing logistics, supplier coordination and media activity to ensure The Thank You Circuit ran seamlessly and left a lasting impression across Queensland.
