Drover to the Rescue

Celebrating 16 years of lifesaving partnership

RFDS x BAC Activation

The Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has been the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) ‘wingperson’ for 16 years, supporting the service in bringing world-class healthcare to regional and remote communities. BonBon was engaged to create a dynamic activation that honoured this partnership and engaged airport travellers.

Drover to the Rescue was a 10-day interactive installation within Brisbane’s Domestic Airport Terminal that highlighted the crucial role BAC plays in connecting planes, patients and medical teams to healthcare services across Queensland.

Anchoring the activation was a custom-built interactive puzzle game that invited passengers to test their skills by safely “landing” an RFDS plane. With guidance from friendly staff, participants raced the clock in a hands-on challenge designed to mirror the quick thinking, precision and teamwork that define the RFDS mission.

BonBon managed the campaign’s end-to-end execution, from creative concept development and design through to delivery. This included managing the puzzle game’s custom build, navigating airport security approvals and securing a high-traffic terminal location to maximise visibility and engagement. The team also developed bold visual branding for the activation, managed merchandise design and sourcing, and coordinated on-site staffing to ensure passengers were consistently engaged and educated.

Through Drover to the Rescue, BonBon successfully transformed a busy airport concourse into an immersive storytelling space, celebrating a powerful partnership and inspiring travellers with the spirit of the RFDS.
